Can not edit objects in Office 2003

My mother has recently purchased Office 2003 Academic
Version. She teaches high school and college maths and
has run across an interesting bug/glitch/"feature" while
working with the Equation Editor (which appilies to all
objects embedded in documents in 2k3). After you insert
an object, then try to edit it she gets a "user does not
have sufficent privileges" error and cannot edit the
object. She is running Windows XP Home and Office 2003
was installed, not upgraded. We have done a format and
reinstall, tried running as different users, installed the
critical update etc and was wondering what is going wrong.

Hi Summers,

Are you using Norton Antivirus? If so see if
turning off the OfficeAV plug in then starting Word
helps.
