Can not exit readonly form

I have form with a subform. The subform is based on a
table that has read only permissions for most users, and
full permissions for others.

When read only users click on any field in the subform,
they can not exit the form. If they click on the parent
form, nothing happens. All other menus in access work OK,
the computer is not locked up, but the focus can't be
moved off the subform. This does not happen for the full
permissions users. Also, if I change the permissions to
allow edits, the problem goes away.

This was not a problem when this was an Access 97
database, but started after converting to Access 2000.

Any ideas? Thanks.
