Can not export e-mails from Access to Excel

I have an Access form that stores e-mails into a table. When I export them
into Excel, they all come in as text (i.e., '(e-mail address removed)). Notice the "
' " that makes it a text field. Is there a way to set the field format with
something like "mailto:" preceding the e-mail addresses so when I export them
to Excel, they come in as e-mail addresses?
