Can not get Entourage to sync with iCal, although address book syncs

Hi,
Although Address Book syncs with Entourage 2004 (version 11.4.0) I
cannot get iCal to sync. iCal has an Entourage calendar but no
information show sup in the calendar. I've tried toggling between
Daily/Weekly/Monthly views but still no information shows up. If I
turn off Entourage sync services, then turn it on again, select
'Replace Sync Services items with Entourage items' a test entry which
I made in the entourage calendar of iCal is deleted. This makes me
believe that Entourage/Sync Services is writing to iCal, but where are
my Entourage calendar entries?

Help would much be appreciated.

Sync services has problems with Entourage and there are numerous posts
here. Even in the update .01 issues remain. Try sync'g just Calendar
alone and not contacts and use the combine method. Delete your
Entourage calendar in iCal first and let Entourage rebuild it. See my
other posts for details and the one from the lead Engineer at
Markspace who explains why this is happening.

Thanks for your reply but unfortunately calender syncing does not work
although it used to once upon a time.
I'm using Entourage 2004 on an MacBook Pro and have followed the
instructions above (and also the below).
I note you state '...popup appears choose combine', whilst Entourage
2004 states 'Merge...' Is the fix only for Entourage 2008?
Like previously Entourage creates a calender in iCal but does not
create any entries in the calender (Address book syncing is disabled)

Is there anything else I should try?


To get it going again, go into Entourage prefs, turn off sync. Back up
your main identity and iCal. Run iSync. Go into prefs and reset sync
history. Restore the iCal calendar from the backup. This resets sync
services. Delete the Entourage calendar in iCal (this will avoid
dups). Go to Entourage and in prefs in sync services enable (check)
Calendar and when the popup appears choose combine then OK. Entourage
will recreate an Entourage calendar in iCal and populate it with its
information (this takes a few seconds depending on the size of the
calendar. Sync should work both ways now. I would not turn on Contacts
as this will cause sync services to become unstable again. There's a
way around this but I won't get into now unless you need this info.
