Can not get Paragraph symbol to go away

I have hit something on my menu that has made the
paragraph symbol appear on my documents. I have tried
everything and can not make it go away. Can someone help
me please! Thanks

You can turn the marks OFF by clicking the paragraph
marker on the toolbar, or clicking...

Tools | Options | View: and clear the checkboxes for the
formatting characters you want to go away. Also, read the
following for some information about why you may want to
keep them turned ON:

Hi there,

You can remove paragaph marks from your documents by
doing following steps:

Steps
1. Open Word
2. Go to Tools menu.
3. Click on Options.
4. Click on View Tab.
5. Under Formatting marks deselect "Paragraph Marks".
6. Hit OK
