Can not install SP1 after it downloads.

I have a factory loaded Microsoft Office XP suite. Some time ago I got a pop
up screen to advise me to look for updates to download. I have a fast cable
connection. The operating system is Microsoft XP Home edition. The SP1 update
downloads but it will not install. I have plenty of room in my C drive to
download and install it. Can anyone help me with this?

Why won't it install? What happens when you try? Do you get any error
messages? If yes, post the exact error message.
