Hi;
I am using msp 2003 sp3... having issue with connecting to resource pool.
recently we installed sp3 - and after that whenever I try to link a project
(which was created earlier with sp2) to resource pool (which has about 120
sharer files) it crashes with following error
'Microsoft Project has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience.'
I've tried the following:
1. Saved project plan as an xml / txt / mpd file and then reopened -->
saved it back to .mpp with a different file name (to ensure there is not
corruption). Still get the same error
2. removed / delinked the main project plan (that contained 3 embedded
projects) along with its sub projects from resource pool - to ensure there
was no corruption within resource pool. However when I try to re-connect to
resource pool it crashes
3. Since I am using msp from a term server, assuming that maybe the profile
is corrupted - tried it on a different term server with the same
configuration (ie. msp 2003 sp3) - still got the same result. I deleted my
profile and tried again. Still the same result
However, the 'interesting' thing is... if I create a new project plan and
connect it to resource pool - it works.
It is just with those files that were created (before sp3) that I am having
this problem with. And there are 10+ project plans and although re-typing
them is an option (since I've already tried copy-n-paste)- but I'd rather use
it as the last resort.
Any help for the gurus out there will be greatly appreciated.
