The first word or item on a line is the e-mail address.
I enter a lower case letter but it pops up as a capital letter

Go to Tools > AutoCorrect Options and uncheck the "Capitalize first
letter of sentences" item. (Word assumes that the first letter after a
paragraph mark starts a new sentence, whether or not you consider it
to be a "sentence".)
