Can not open Excel 2002 spreasheet with Excel 2003

I just got a new dell machine running WindowsXP Office
2003 When I try to access a machine on my network running
windows98 and Office2002 I get a blank excel screen the
document never opens. I copy and paste it the XP machine
I can open the document fine.
