can not open outlook

I recently installed a new microsoft office 2003 which I bought to replace a
trial version. I could open outlook in the trial version, but I can't open
it with the new version. I get the following error message--unable to open
default e-mail folder.

Create a new mail profile and point it at your existing PST.
