Can not open/save an Excel spreadsheet

One of my employees has an intermittent problem opening and saving just one
certain Excel Spreadsheet. We can not seem to figure out any pattern to this
problem. She has XP Home Addition (service pack 1) and Office 2000. We did
the most current downloads for Windows and Office and still seem to have this
problem.
Did anybody have this same problem and if so how did you correct it ??? Any
ideas ??
