(using Outlook 2003)

Hi,

An external user is trying to send me this link...

<a href="myProtocol://test">Click me</a>

.... but all I get in Outlook is this...

<a>Click me</a>

.... The href part is missing.

The funny part is, if I try to send myself the same link in outlook, the
link is coming through perfectly.

So if it is sent external, the href part is missing, but if I sent it
internal, the href part is there.

If I use Thunderbird to recieve the mail, the href is there. Therefor it
can't be Exchange or my GFI antispam/virus causing the problem.

Any idea????

Thanks!

did you look at the message source in outlook? Does the infobar have any
information - such as it was blocked for security reasons?

Hi Diana,

No, there's no info at all. The href part is just missing, so I can't
click the link.

From home I tried to send the link from a Thunderbird client to my
Outlook client at work .... the href part was missing.

So I tried to send the link from my Thunderbird client at home to my
Thunderbird client at work ... vupti .. the href part was there.

So I tried to send the link from my Outlook client (at work) to it self
(my own emailaddy) ... and the href part was there.

STRANGE!!!!!

Any idea??

Thanks!

Mojo

do you have an av scanner running on outgoing outlook email? do you have
another account - like at gmail - that you can test a test to? It sounds
like something is removing the href.

Also note that if you paste a url into html email, it's not converted to a
clickable link until you hit space or enter.
