Can not remove a resourse from a project with protected actuals

I am trying to remove a resource from a project plan that has protected
actuals. I continue to get an error or when I try to remove the resource, the
resource reappears when I close and reopen the plan. How can this be
accomplished?

Carol:

If the resource has actual work posted in the plan, and you're serious about
PROTECTING actual work, then you can't do it. If you've now reassigned the
resource, or the resource has left the company, your best bet is to remove
the remaining work from all of the resource's assignments to close them out.
Is this what you want? Otherwise, you need to unprotect the actual work by
turning off this feature to delete the resource and its corresponding actual
work.
