Can not respond to an updated meeting request

HELP! Has anyone seen this?
Person1 gets an updated meeting request from person2 who
is a delegate for her manager. Person1 gets the following
error message: You cannot respond to a meeting without an
organizer. You must add an organizer field to the item.
