Can not turn off the Text/Select Button

Don Hixote

I'm new to OneNote on a new TabletPC. When using OneNote, I sometimes click
on the Text Select button, but when I want to revert to using my pen, I
cannot click the Select button off. Clicking the pen button, nor any other
button helps. Is there a bug in the program, or is it me?

Chris,

Thank you for responding so quickly.

Yes, I have clicked the pen button. (That's what I meant when I said
"Clicking the pen button, nor any other button helps.")

The program is behaving as though there is a bug, refusing to release the
select tool when asked to do so. When I click the pen button the focus
quickly changes back to the select tool button.

Unfortunately, this problem is not covered by the tutorial, which I have
already used.

Sincerely,
Don H.

A student of mine has this problem with his Toshiba Tablet on occasion and
no one has been able to figure out why. But what works for him is to click
his pen on the task bar or on another application. When you come back to
OneNote the pen should be selectable.

Strange, Don. If what Kathy suggested doesn't work, you might go to
Help on the OneNote toolbar and select Detect and Repair... Something may
have gotten goofed up, and the action would correct the situation.

And, you guessed it--my new laptop's a Toshiba Tablet!

Thanks, I'll experiment a bit and let you know if anything works!
