I have been tring to update or reomove microsoft office
2000 with no luck, after the install screen on sevice pack
1a or remove office screen appears and the next or remove
button is pressed the computer locks up and has to be
reset to reboot.

what is wrong, missing ect....

is microsoft watching these news groups and know what a
piece of Sh$% their software is if they wrote the programs
right the first time all these bugs, patches and fixes
would not be needed.

bill gates once said "hat if cars had the growth that the
computer industry had they would be getting way more than
100 MPG." well I would rather a system that worked with no
headaces. if cars need this much fixing they would be
recalled!!!!!!

Microsoft has no official presence in the news groups except to provide the
server on which they are hosted (msnews.microsoft.com). Occasionally, PSS
folks will drop by on their own time to answer questions or if a particular
issue appears to be a problem (as with the early September Office patches
for vb vulns).

You are quite free to toss the Microsoft programs and substitute any other
program or suite. Oo_O and Star Office both advertise that they are an
Office replacement. There are many others as well, such as abiword (nice
little easy wordprocessing application) that you can get, most of them for
free.

Milly,
Maybe it is time for ms to have a presence. Nearly every
post today is about the same thing.
I have now turned off the automatic updates to everything
ms on my system. And thanks to ms updates I can no longer
use, remove, update or otherwise get viruses from Office.
Thanks ms.
