can not update protected windows files

Dalid

Hello!
I can not install my Office 2000 for Windows 98 and NT on my new computer
running Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 SP2.
It starts installation, but then shows Windows File Protection window,
saying: "Windows files must be installed for your installation to proceed.
Insert your Windows XP Pro SP2 CD now." When I insert my computer recovery
DVD, provided by the manufacturer, in I get an Installer Info window, saying:
“Error 1933. The Windows Installer service can not update one or more
protected windows files."
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

The applies to section does not specify the service pack level for Windows XP.
It may help.
You should read the article thouroughly before using since it involves your
Windows recover disk(s). Print for reference.
