can not update smtp address in PAB

C

Chris

I have been using a PAB with OL 2003. As I remembered I was able to make
changes to SMTP address on some of the entries in Nov. Now, when I clicked
on applied after making the change it showed up in the address book but when
I tried to send an email using that entry it still goes to the old address.
Actually, under propreties there is no change.

I can add a new entry and make a change. It will be saved properly. So, it
only happen to those existing entries. I don't get any errors. close/open
OL no help.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Outlook has not used a PAB in over a decade. There is no reason you should
be. Why are you? PAB's are no longer supported. Use a Contacts Folder like
everyone else does.

Thanks Russ. Actually, it's for one of our users. I tested with my OL2003
no luck. I understand PAB is out of date but the user is used to it. Since
she has been using it and was able to update it till Nov., she wants to stick
with it. I'd like to ask her to use Contacts but will be nice to find out
why it suddently stopped working first.

No one will know since no one uses them and they are not supported.

Outlook 2003 dropped support for the PAB, IIRC.

"Support" was dropped long before then. Outlook 2003 at least retained
backwards compatibility so that users could open old PAB's and migrate them.
Outlook 2007 has no compatibility whatsoever.
