Turki Ben Sumih

Dears,
My Server refuses to upload a project with many tasks like 230 tasks , when
i try to upload it to my production server it gives me an error which is "
Microsoft Project has encountered a problemand and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience". where as when i try to upload it to the
development server,it uploads successfully.
can you you help me on that !!!! ?? :)

Hi Turki,

this may be a long shot, but i would check that the Service Packs on both
Production and Development are the same.

If this is the case, I would try to use a "simple" project to see if you
still encounter the problem. Should you not encounter the Problem than you
may need to assume that something is wrong with your Project and you may need
to save it as an mpp file and import it via the import wizard, that may do
the trick.
Sorry to be so vage, but it is alway hard to "toubleshoot" with an error
message like this.
Should this not work, I would check the Event logs on your server.
Let me know if this worked

Hi Turki,

have you checked the event logs on your server? do they have any Project
Server error message and if so, what is the error message?
thanks

Hi Turki,

since this message is over a year old, i would assume that it has nothing to
do with the error message you receive when publishing your project.

You said that you can updload small projects without any problem, only this
large project is a problem.

Have you tried to save it as an MPP file and then import it via the import
Wizard? This may work.
Once again sorry about beeing so vage, but the error message you provide
doesnt help a lot and I have to try different options.
I hope this helps

Sorry Turki, the last option I see is to copy the tasks and Project
inforamtion to a new Project file and try to save this.
Let me know if that worked
