Can Office 2003 read Office 2007 files?

I'm in the process of buying a new PC at work. We have a 4 pc peero to peer
network and sometimes we share Word, Excel, Access docs. The new PC will have
Vista and Office2007 while the rest of the PCs have WinXP and Office2003Pro.
Will my older PCs have a problem opening and editing files created with MS
Office 2007?
