Can ON use the default browser?

Hi,

When I click on a link to a web page in ON, it starts IE
even though IE is not the default browser. Can I set ON
to use the default browser?

Thanks,

Elbert

This is one of the really frustrating things about ON. I've not found a
way to change ON to use another browser (although my default is not to
use IE). I'm guessing that ON is "hardcoded" to use IE.

No it's not, but we haven't yet had a chance to figure out why this happens
for some people. The registration of browsers and HTML handlers is not as
straightforward as you might think, so there must be some mix-up somewhere.

In case this is useful information, other Office apps
(eg, Word, Outlook) on the same computer do use my
default browser.

I've noticed the same thing happens when I click a link sent via Windows
Messenger. I wonder if it's the same thing happening there also...

Just out of curiosity, which browser is set as the default when this problem
occurs?

The plot thickens.

Clicking on links in the research task pane brings up my default
browser. However, links in the main page content always open IE.

(My default browser is Firefox).
