Can OneNote do the following 3 tasks?????

K

Kikbax

I am about to purchase a tablet/slate and have tested some models. I am
trying to determine if OneNote can do the following 3 things:

1) when reading HTML email,...can OneNote or "digital ink" be used to copy
and paste material from the html email into Onenote?

2) I receive many trade publications that now use a digital format to
read,....again,..can this information be copy and pasted into OneNote for
reference?

3) same question but with a website,...can OneNote or the digital ink be
used to copy and paste into OneNote for reference?

Any help would be appreciated!

You will want to download and install the Microsoft education pack for
Tablet PC - unless you go with the Gateway CX2610 because this is installed
by Gateway. I am sure other companies do this too.

This program includes the powertoy to print a document to OneNote. For
example, tonight I have printed several emails to OneNote, printed PDFs to
OneNote, sent webpages to OneNote, and sent OneNote pages to Word 2003.
Actually, OneNote has become the center of my Tablet PC with everything
linking off of it.

The tablet PC's Digital Ink format is but one data format supported by
OneNote. Text and HTML can be easily imported/pasted from any
application.

There are also several OneNote power toys which can bring in information
from certain applications into OneNote. Be sure to test first, as not
all such programs import or paste as text - some paste as images of the
text which in the current version of OneNote cannot be treated as
anything other than a picture.

Did you see the answer to this question in Tablet PC Buzz? If not, yes, you
can do all three in different ways, depending on your needs.

I don't know about "digital ink" but there's a PowerToy that will allow
you to send Outlook messages over to OneNote.

I presume you're talking about Zinio. I have it also. Presuming you
can print the part of the publication that you want to transfer, you can
use the Print to OneNote powertoy to do that.
3) same question but with a website,...can OneNote or the digital ink be

Yes, there are powertoys that will send from IE to OneNote, and there is
a Firefox add-in that sends from FF to OneNote.
