We are upgrading our computers with the new Outlook. The new server with the
new MS Exchange is not scheduled until late first quarter. Can Outlook 2003
connect to the old MS Exchange Server 4.0 ?

I don't know. I only tested Outlook 2003 against Exchange 5.5 and newer.
Best advice is to setup one machine to test with. Test key functions that
your site uses to make sure there are no issues. (e.g. For example, outlook
2003 will add another field to reminders that can cause backups to fail
under 5.5. MS released a fix for 5.5.)

Yes I have. I get an error message when trying that Outlook must be 'online'.
I have upgraded from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003. 2000 was working fine. 4.0
Exchange Server is scheduled to be replaced late first quarter 2005. In the
mean time We need to be able to use 4.0.
