when using outlook express I can set it up for both my wife and myself to
receive our e-mail by using the switch identities command. Can outlook be
used that way? I couldn't find anything related to multiple users.

Outlook doesn't use identities. If you're using WinXP the easiest way to
setup mutliple configuration is to setup multiple users.

What version of Outlook are you using?

Outlook uses profiles and switching profiles is a two step process - close
outlook, reopen it with the other profile (switching identities also closes
OE and reopens it with a new identify aka profile, but it's all done with
one menu selection). If you use winxp and fast user switching, you can keep
outlook running with each profile and switch windows profiles.

XP professional and it is Outlook 2003 student and teacher version. I will
try to find information on 'multiple users" in the Microsoft website.

Quick question... are outlook and outlook express compatable or should I
remove user accounts from one of them.

I will look into this and see how simple it is to use. My wife isn't as
computer literate as I am and that isn't saying much.

They're not compatible in that they use different message stores & such. I'd
remove mail accounts from one or the other.
