Can Outlook (now Word) Produce html/xml that's usable outside Micr

I've been trying to get Outlook email to produce bulleted lists that end up
as such when received by other email clients (eg: Gmail, Thunderbird, Yahoo)..

...with zero success.

I've tried everything I could find in Outlook itself, and am now turning to
Word, since now ('07) it's the only editor for Outlook emails.

But it seems that Word goes out of its wayto keep one from seeing what it's
doing when it alleges it's doing html/xml.

ALl I know is that the way I've got it set (the way it came), anyway, it
doesn't work.

As you have no control over how the recipient of an email message views it,
if formatting is important, you should send whatever it is as a .pdf
attachment to a mail message.

I should have said that we'd like to use Outlook as part of a collaborative
email discussion -- but we can't make it be compatible.
