Can Outlook2000 work with MSN Explorer 7 ?

I can receive but can not sent messages.Can this be
configured to work or do l need to use an earlier version
of MSN Explorer? Outlook Express and Hotmail work but I
prefer Outlook 2000. Thanks for any specific fix.
