Can Powerpoint (or Visio) Org Chart data be EXPORTED to Excel?

Is there a way to export the detail data from the Powerpoint or Visio org
charts INTO Excel? Departmental Org Charts at my company are typically in
Powerpoint, maintained by departments, and tend to be more current than the
org information maintained in HR systems from which I could get an Excel
listing. (I know how to use the Visio org chart wizard to build an org chart
from Excel, but haven't found a way to reverse that process.) I need the
Excel data to update user lists in various programs, and if there was some
way to capture it out of PowerPoint or Visio org charts.
