Can Project Server 2003 handle AD entries with trailing spaces?

I cannot get MS Project Server 2003 to sync with a large number of the names
in our Active Directory. Apparently, the names it is rejecting have a
trailing space after Display Name (as viewed in Outlook). There are
thousands of these names in our system and it is unlikely that I can get our
server team to remove the spaces.

Is there a fix out there? Does Project Server 2007 have the same issue?

The trailing spaces shouldn't be there. Project definitely doesn't like
them. Your AD people should be able to clean this up with a script.
