Setting up a laptop to use Exchange Server 2003/Outlook 2003 while in the
office, connected to the network. This is working fine as it is currently
set up, and incoming mail is sent to an .ost file on the laptop. While he's
out of the office, he uses either dial-up or cable modem to connect to the
internet. He has previously used POP3 and SMTP configuration to connect to
the mail (Exchange) server using .pst file (with no problems). I have copied
the contents of the .pst file over to the .ost file and changed the mail
delivery location accordingly. Now he is able to receive new email while
offline, however, he is not able to send mail unless he is connected through
the network. It also appears that he receives duplicates on select messages
when he reconnects to the network.
So, in summary, the two problems he is having are:
1. Cannot send messages while offline.
2. Receiving duplicates when online.
I hope that's enough information...
