Hi,

I am not sure someone can help me but I am having difficulties sending emails from Entourage. I have a SMTP server (outgoing mail) but it doesn't seem to work properly. I sometimes manage to send my email out of Entourage but it seems to be completely random (and apparently depends on my Internet connection).

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks!

Well I bet it's the same issue that pops up in the group just about
every day.
Your SMTP will only let you send messages out if you are connecting from
your ISP. If you are connecting from another location, it refuses to
relay the messages. You have to use the SMTP of the ISP you are
connecting with.

I wondered if it didn't have anything to do with the quality/speed of my Internet connection. this is a work account (no hotmail or yahoo etc...). And the outgoing server sends my messages out sometimes (and not just from work).

Do I need to check with my ISP then?

Yes, check with your ISP. For example, my ISP, worldnet.att.net, has two
SMTP server address, one that can only be used when connected to their
network, and another (the one I use) that can be used from anywhere. The
"anywhere" one requires a User ID and Password when I want to send mail.
Your ISP may have a similar arrangement.
