I have OS X 10.3 with integrated fax capacity. I can receive a fax
from someone else, but I can't send. After a lot of struggle I was
finally able to dial someone else's fax machine, but apparently that
machine perceived my Mac as being a telephone, not a fax. The fax
machine I was trying to fax rang as a telephone, not as a fax.
Finally the person on the other end picked up and answered, and I
could hear him saying "Hello" through my speakers.
This happened repeatedly, and the fax never went through.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
