I know for a fact that family members have been trying to send me e-mail but
they aren't coming through. I can receive junk mail like pottery barn and
netflix notices but I can't receive personal mail from family and business
associates! Please help!

Any details on your configuration for us to work with?
Do the messages show in your webbased mailclinet provided by your ISP?

No messages also are missing from the webbased version of my e-mail. Any idea
why or how to help?

This makes the issue not an Outlook issue. Verify that they are using the
correct address and try to send yourself some test messages. If they don't
show up in your webbased mailclient contact your ISP.

So are you using a double negative ("No" and "missing") to actually mean
the message ARE in your mailbox when using the webmail interface?

So what error message(s) do you get when you attempt to yank those mails
that you see are in your mailbox when using the webmail interface?

Did you just setup Outlook and this is a new problem for a new setup?
Or have you had the setup for quite awhile and just now you cannot yank
your mails?

Can you yank your pending mails using Outlook Express? Cox won't
support every e-mail client that exists (since there are way too many
for any one entity to support) but apparently they support Outlook
Express. So setup the account in OE and see if you can yank your
pending mails using that e-mail client. If it works there then define
the account using the same parameters in Outlook.

Maybe you allow your software firewall to let OE have Internet
connections but you don't allow Outlook. What happens when you disable
your firewall? When you disable your anti-virus software?
