Problem: I use core.com service, but I access the internet via
When I use sbcglobal settings I get this:
Authentication failed because Entourage doesn't support any of the
available authentication methods.
Mail could not be sent.
Account name: "(e-mail address removed)"
When I use core.com/netdirect settings it tries to go to the server--
says it's connecting to authmail.core.com, but then times out with the
following:
An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down,
overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic. Mail could not be
sent.
Account name: "(e-mail address removed)"
I have checked with support at CoreCom -- and it is not their server.
Maybe something isn't set-up right in the Mac OS Network set-up?
Still, why can get email but not send it? Browsing is unaffected.
sbcglobal.net (account: (e-mail address removed))--- I can receive mail
into Entourage, but not send it out of Entourage.
Macbook Pro
Mac OS X 10.4.8
Entourage 11.3.3
Additionally, my permanent email address is: (e-mail address removed)
but my account / what I have to log-in with, is:
(e-mail address removed)
(they are one in the same to me)
The SMTP CoreCom server setting is:
'authmail.core.com' -- I have checked the advanced setting box in
Entourage that says "use same setting as receiving mail server" --
actually, I've tried with and without that setting. Also using
"log on using" with full e-mail address and password for netdirect
Neither makes any difference.
