can send mail but unable to receive

I have been using outlook with no problems and all of a sudden it stopped
receiving mail but I could send mail I am on ADSL. The only setting I have
changed recently was an Active X to enable. Please advise if anyone knows
what may have caused this. The box that shows the sending & receiving mail
and how many is not showing up anymore also please help Jann

First,make sure your sending mail setting is correct (Tools | Accounts |
Change - varies slightly depending on your version of Outlook).

If you are using a POP account, go to http://www.mail2web.com and check your
mail. Delete any message that looks suspect (potential virus - or corrupt).
Delete them all if possible. Chances are that one of the messages in your
inbox is corrupt. Since you don't know which one you might have to delete
them all.

Test again with Outlook.
