can shared calendars pop up reminders?

Hi,
I have a number of calendars that are in the 'public folders' folder
(Situated on Exchange server so that they can be shared) Is there any way
that I can get the 'reminder pop up' to work. I notice that Outlook doesn't
support this facility when the calendar is in the Public Folders but is
there a way around this or another piece of software?
