If you have the full application installed, look for Microsoft Office
Document Imaging in the tools installed with Office. You may have to
convert your image file to another format, such as .tif, and it will
of cousre depend on the quality of your image.

The first thing I tried was to open it with Windows Picture and Fax
viewer.

Next I tried to print that to "MS document image writer"

Then I picked print as full page fax print (centered and rotated to
fit)
This rotates the image 90 deg.

I saved it as an mdi file.

This opens it as MS document image.

Then I try Recognize Text as OCR.

Then I go Send text to Word.

This has recognized the first column as text but then it recognizes the
second column but instead of printing besides the first column it drops
the text to the bottom of the file.

Is there a better way?

Scanning in faxed labs is not a very successful method.

You might want to stick to having your labs as an image file.

In PaperPort, you can view the scanned labs as an image file, but also
"COPY TEXT" easily.

Do you have an electronic medical record ?
