Can someone please explain ThisDocument and Macros relationship

Hi

I have written some macros for a template that need to pass parameters to
statements in the Document_Close Sub in ThisDocument part of the project, I
want to run different statements conditionally when closing a document/Word.

The macros are created under NewMacros.

However I can neither call the Document_Close from my macro nor can the
Document_Close read my variables (public) if I use Application.Quit.

Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong please?
