can speech dictation be done using wav files

R

Russ

I would like to record simple voice time sheet type information on my PocketPC.
Then transfer the WAV file to my desktop and have the speech recognition
engine convert it to typed text.

Is this possible with the XP speech recognition tools?

Thanks,
Russ

Hi Russ,

It is a feature of some of the Dragon Naturally Speaking
and Philips voice tools. For the Microsoft
Speech tools you may want to check with the folks
in the speech newsgroup (link below) on how you'd
configure to use a wav rather than a microphone
input (link below), or in the Windows newsgroups
for your version of Windows. Keep in mind that in
general that the MS speech tool 'learning' is
somewhat machine specific.
