Can sub category be removed?

Is there a way of removing an unassigned sub category??

When choosing a new form our users choose from the category, but we don't
need any sub categories. If the sub category field is left empty in the form
the choose new form dialogue box will display <No sub category name> in the
tree. Can this be removed so the forms are directly under the main category?

Using Outlook 03, Exchange 5.5, forms published in organizational forms
library.

The only thing you can do is publish those items under a specific category,
and then they won't appear in a group under <No sub category name>. Note
that even the default Outlook forms are listed under this heading.

They are published under a specific category atm. This is my setup:

+HR
++<No Subcategory Name>
+++Custom Form 1
+++Custom Form 2

+Reception
++<No Subcategory Name>
+++Custom Form 1
+++Custom Form 2
+++Custom Form 3

(where + is a level of hierarchy)

So Im guessing the only way to do it would be like this:

+Company Name
++HR
+++Custom Form 1
+++Custom Form 2
++Reception
+++Custom Form 1
+++Custom Form 2
+++Custom Form 3

That would work, correct? But my point is that with the subcategory being
mandatory it creates an unnecessary step in the levels that my users have to
go through. It would be good not having to go through this though.

Yeah, I hear ya. I guess your only other option is to have them switch from
the hierarchical view to the list or detailed view, both which do not show
sub categories at all.

Yeah the only problem with those views is that they're not easy for an
organisation who use a large number of forms, i.e. having to scroll if you
have say 20+ forms. So making the company name the top level of the
hierarchy looks like the best way to go.
