Please advise.an the auto update feature be activated for Office 2000 products

Do you mean the combined Windows/Office update service
from
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate ?
If so, then no, the Office 2000 products (no longer in the general
product update cycle due to the age of the version) are
not included.
There are utilties and there are 3rd party update notification
services that include that support.
