Can this be done? Excel output page problem.

Here is my problem.

We use excel for our work schedule. There are three crews. Dayshift
(8-4pm), Afternoon (4-12), Midnight to 8am. There are varying amounts
of people on each shift. Whenever anyone calls off we have to call
people by overtime hours worked from lowest to highest. My question
is, is there anyway to create a calculation whereby we would input a
date and the output would show all the people starting with the lowest
and ending with the highest OT hours on the current shift then the
shift after the one needing the OT and then to people on days off?

It looks like this now, only it is done by hand.

Bill calls off for midnight shift.

4-12 supervisor has to fill the OT for midnight shift.

Shift preceding need.
Bill 20hrs
Tom 30hrs
Jane 40hrs
Joe 50hrs

Day Shift.
Hank 20hrs
Chuck 30hrs
Chris 40hrs
Frank 50hrs

People on days off.
Troy 40hrs
Kelly 50hrs
Tony 60hrs
John 70hrs

Who ever is low man is forced to work. I know this does not look that
hard, but we have about 40 people or so working all these shifts and
people get missed and people file grievances for pay because they were
not asked.

Thanks in advance.

I suspect it could.

Beyond that, you have not provided enough information for a more detailed
answer. If you were just asking if it seemed worthwhile to hire someone in
your area to work on this problem, then I would say yes - it is definitely
solvable given the underlying required data is available.
