Natively within the product you can't. There are 3rd party applications
that will give you the Office 97-2003 style toolbars. Google for it.

JohnF, you aren't the only one with that opinion about the Ribbon UI. I used
the trial version for a few weeks. I found it to be illogical and counter
productive. Since I didn't see any benefit whatsoever in learning the new UI
to continue what I doing, I chose to revert to Office 2003. That's one option.

The second option is to install add-ins that add the classic menus in
another tab. You might want to search the posts here. Some posters have
posted several links to these add-ins in response to earlier queries. Some of
these add-ins are free, whereas you'll have to shell out more $$$s.

hth!

As it is, quite a few users clearly prefer 2003 over 2007. Perhaps by the
next release, the powers that be at MS may see the light and provide a
classic UI alternative to the Ribbon, if they're interested in retaining
their long term customers.

And the VAST majority of us have no problem adjusting to the new
version. In fact the number of posters having difficulties converting
FROM the Trial TO the permanent version greatly exceeds the number of
people trying to get the 2003 version or menus.

Exactly, and since that applies directly to your claims, I for one, am
glad to see you finally admit it.
