Can view Project in Project Center

Project Server 2003 - we receive a "there is no information to display in
this view" error trying to view project details from Project Center. Some
projects open without problem, while some get this error.

I've noticed the projects that we're unable to view, are missing the DSN
name in the MSP_PROJECTS table. Inserting the DSN and restarting the server
fails to fix. The App Event log shows errors with the View Notification
Service whenever we attempt to view one of the projects. The DropView folder
permissions are correct and the folder is empty.

Any ideas on this one?

I've received this error when installing Project Server 2003 on the same
machine as SharePoint Portal Server 2003. SharePoint Services does not
configure correctly, if at all, during the Project Server installation.

Check your managed paths. You should have an excluded path /msadc added to
SharePoint.

There is a Knowledge Base article on this also. Just past the error into
Microsoft's support site and you'll find what you have to do.

Cory,

We did have Sharepoint Portal 2003 on the same machine and did not even
consider this as an option. Hmmmm. I worked with Microsoft support for a week
until their only suggestion was to just reinstall everything.

I got my hands on a new, pristine server and reinstalled everything (less
SharePoint Portal) and it all is running fine.

Thanks for the post.
