can visio documents be opened with other ms office applications?

Received a visio document from a colleague but do not have visio installed.
Installing a vision viewer is not an option.

I have Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Access on my machine. Can any of
these programs open vision documents?

unfortunately you must either have the visio product or the visio viewer.
You might ask your co-worker to save as svg (viewer available from adobe),
html, or one of the other options (bitmap, metafile, etc.)
