Can website created in Dreamweaver be converted to Frontpage?

I've inherited the responsibility of updating my saddle club's website. The
gentleman who created it has moved out of the country. He used Dreamweaver to
create the pages. Now, the club wants to purchase FrontPage since it's less
expensive. Will the pages convert from the old program to the new and be
easily edited? Also, which program is more user friendly? Thanks.

Hmmm....

Will the pages convert from the old program to the new and be
easily edited?

There would be minimal 'conversion', depending on the original pages. Can
you post a link to the site?
Also, which program is more user friendly?

That would depend entirely on a) your definition of "user friendly" and b)
your knowledge of HTML and CSS. If the latter is close to zero, then FP is
likely your better choice. If the latter is much higher than 40% (rather
arbitrary), then it won't matter which you use.

Thanks for your response. The link to the saddle club website is:

My knowledge of HTML is pretty much zero. My experience is in print
publishing and at one time had excellent command of PageMaker and
QuarkXpress.
So, after looking at the website, do you think FrontPage would work for me?
I very much appreciate your response.

I didn't go through the site - just looked at the page you linked.

You should have no problem with this page and if it's representative of the
rest of the site, then no problem there either. However, the site has two
problems -

1. It uses frames
2. It uses Flash buttons

Both of those can be problems for your visitors.

If it were me, I would recast the site to use flat pages, not frames, and to
use plain text links (or image links) not Flash buttons.

Otherwise, you would just import all of these pages, and their corresponding
images and other files into your newly defined FP site, and you would be
fine.

I do see alot of missing images on the site, for what that's worth. For
example, on the home page, this image is
missing -http://www.peculiarsaddleclub.org/arena641.jpg

Also, the clinics page is not found....

Thank you very much for your input. I will try to get this website looking
better with FrontPage.
