Can Word 2000 and WordPerfect coexist on an XP machine?

Have a friend who had installed WordPerfect Office 11 on
his new laptop (XP Pro) but wanted PowerPoint, so he
installed MS Office 2000, too. Now he can't get either
WordPerfect or Word to run. Both generate errors, but he
can't give me the specific error...I've asked repeatedly.
He just says he gets wpwin.exe errors and winword.exe
errors. Any ideas? (At least his PowerPoint runs, which
is what he was after.) I'd appreciate any help!

I can't speak about current versions, but I was able to run Word 97 and
WordPerfect 7.0 concurrently without any problems. What file extension does
WP 11 use? If it's .wpd, there should be no problem; if it's .doc, then the
two apps would be fighting for the file association.
