Hey, Madzo,
I have had this same need on a number of occasions. Can't answer aobut a
conversion within Word, but here's what I did. First, make sure your logo
has a white (or other?) background. You can draw a rectangle over your logo,
specify the fill color, then use the 'Order' command to 'send the box to the
back' so it'll be behind the logo image. Next use the Print Preview utility
in Word to get the logo on your screen without all the little box outlies,
grid and other stuff. Use the Zoom utility in Print Preview to fill the
screen with your logo, then use a screen capture program to grab the image.
I used Parson's Screen Shot 2 for years, but now use HyperSnap DX5 (about
$35, I think). Any of these programs lets you specify an area for capture,
then it coverts the grabbed image to a TIFF, JPG, BMP or whatever.
Resolution is only as good as your screen, but if you blow the logo up big
before capturning it, you'll get a pretty good image. Works for me!
