Can you automatically return from a linked ppt file?

C

Capt James Cook

We're using PowerPoint 2003.
I have a ppt file that links to several other files. I would like each of
the linked files to automatically return to the main ppt after their last
slide (in stead of getting the black screen and pressing <Enter> to return.
I have several other people that prepare their own linked file. They are not
too PowerPoint savey. I was hoping for some kind of auto-close macro that I
could copy into each of their files. How can I do this?

Also, it seems that hidden slides in the linked file have to be moved after
the non-hidden slides. For example, if slide 2 is hidden but slide 3 is not,
then PowerPoint will still show slide 2. However, if I move it after the
last non-hidden slide it won't show it.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

Are you using this method for linking?

If so, then each linked file will automatically return to the 'master'
presentation without a black screen.

Also, if you press the Esc key during a linked presentation that will also
return to the master presentation.
Also, if you press the End key during a linked presentation that will go to
the last slide in a linked presentation, then one click will get you back to
the master presentation.

Cheers
