Can you create automated email sends from InfoPath forms?

I

InfoPathUser

I am using InfoPath 2003 and I am wondering if anyone can help me to produce
a form that will produce an email to a designated user based on a yes or no
logic. For example, a manager recieves via email, Infoa expense request form
with the selections Approved or Disapproved. If approved, the filled out
request is emailed to an accountant's email address, if disapproved, a popup
appears asking reason disapproved, then the disapproved request is emailed
back to the original requestor for him to complete and re-send.

The solution you have outlaid is defiantly possible to replicate using
InfoPath the question is "what you want to manage the workflow behind your
form?"

In the company where I currently work we are using InfoPath 2003 in
combination with K2.net and SharePoint to manage our expense approval
process

When an expense approval is submitted the appropriate manager for the
employee is notified via email that an expense approval is required. If the
Manager approves the expenses the Accounts department is notified via email
and they can then link to the appropriate expense document in the form
library. If not then the originator is notified and asked to update the
form.

If you are using InfoPath 2007 and MOSS however the process becomes a
little easier to setup as the workflow engine is included in MOSS.
You could then create an expense approval workflow using either SharePoint
designer or (if the workflow is a little more complicated) using windows
workflow foundation.
Once the workflow is created you can hook it up to a form library and each
time a form is created or updated in the library have the workflow kick off
to see what has to happen next.

I know this is a high level answer but I hope it helps

Cheers
Ben
