Can you customize the Office Button?

I know how to customize the Ribbon, but was wondering if it's possible to
also customize the Office Button. We'd like to remove the options:
Office Button>Prepare>Encrypt Document, Add a Digital Signature and Mark as
Final
because they conflict with our document management system.
Thanks...

You can customize the Office button, or ..

.. you can disable these items via Policy settings, but I don't believe the
settings are in the Admin Templates, so you will need to either edit them
(possible but not entirely straightforward) or add the policy settings to
the registry some other way.

The registry key is
Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\disabledcmdbaritemscheckboxes

and the necessary (string) values are:

FileDocumentEncrypt - 15675
FileAddDigitalSignature - 13035
FileMarkAsFinal - 13033

Tony...it works...we set group policies to grey-out the options. Thanks so
much for your help.

Is there a list somewhere of all the command bar ID's, in case there's
anything else we want to disable?

Glad it worked for you.

I have spent some time looking at Policies and the apparent arbitrary nature
of what can and can't be controlled with them, and what seems to be an
equally arbitrary subset of those features that are actually included in the
Admin Templates, but I am not currently in a position to state for certain
which controls can, or can't be used in this way. A full list of Control IDs
is, however, available from Microsoft here:
